Hi, I’m Tim.

I have a full-time IT job, a young son, and a stubborn habit I can’t seem to quit — starting side projects that don’t always work out.

Here’s my honest track record:

• I built an English website about goji berries and wrote over 800 articles across 6 years. I also made 193 YouTube videos. Total income: essentially zero. I finally let the hosting lapse in November 2025 — three months before AI would have solved my biggest problems.
• I built a Wix store selling roll-up pianos. Invested ¥2,000. Sold 3 units. Then COVID happened.
• I researched selling on Temu. Bought the course. Never actually started.
• I built a Chinese side hustle blog with 1,500+ articles. Shut it down because selling advice about making money — before I’d made any — felt wrong.

Four attempts. Zero financial wins. And yet I kept going.

Why I’m Still Trying

Because something changed.

A few years ago I started using AI seriously — not just for quick answers, but as an actual collaborator. For the first time, the gap between “what I want to build” and “what I’m actually able to do” started closing.

With AI, I can write in natural English even though it’s not my first language. I can research stocks, generate content, dig into medical databases, and analyze supply chains in ways that would have taken me weeks before — now in hours.

This blog is my honest record of what happens when an ordinary person gets access to extraordinary tools. The experiments. The failures. The small wins. Written in real time, with no idea how it ends.

Why English?

Partly practical — English content reaches a global audience, and the monetization opportunities are better. But it’s also something more personal.

I want to leave a record my son can read someday. He’s growing up in a world where AI will be everywhere. I want him to see that his father took it seriously — that he tried to adapt, to build something real, even when it was hard and slow and uncertain.

Even if it takes another six years.
